A failed assault

"The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting."
-Sun Tzu

Invasion has been the worst curse for India since ages. But this incident is about a strong vengeance of invasion taken by the most influential teacher, an economist by that time. Yes, it's about Chanakya and his

visionary moves to protect the subcontinent from the foreign regime.
In 326 BC Alexander invaded India and captured a few Northwestern provinces like Gandhara (in today's Afghanistan and Pakistan). He also defeated Porus, the king of Punjab. One by one, Indian provinces started falling under Alexander. Within a very less time, Alexander conquered almost all prominent kingdoms of India.
But on the other hand, Chanakya, a teacher of taxilla working in the Magadha empire ( situated in today's mid-eastern India) realized the actual problem and the possibility of losing the whole India forever if this deteriorated defense continues. He commenced a diplomatic journey to various small kingdoms like Shudraka, Maalava and convinced their Kings to form an alliance against the alien invader, but he failed. Indian kings were busy in enjoying the wine and entertainment ceremonies. They had assumed themselves almighty and impeccable.
The assault that Chanakya anticipated against the invader was failed. But it inspired him to take a mighty oath of what had never happened in the Indian history. He pledged for one united India, Akhand Bharat. Used his association of teachers against the distracted ruler of Gandhar (Today's Afghanistan) and launched a rebellion. His pupils started convincing people to get militarized for the protection of their motherland. And within no time, the tiny army of Chanakya's pupils devastated the Greek camps  and threw them out of the Indian politics.
His prime pupil Chandra Gupta then formed a powerful confederacy of kings triumphed the largest Indian empire, Magadha which was under sheer imbroglio of autocracy by King Dhananand. The mighty pan Indian Rule of Gupta lasted for 100s of years leaving a strong legacy of valor for us.
This was the first time when Indian kingdoms which always used to fight against each other, stood aside for each other to contribute for the prosperity of the motherland.
History sometimes prevails future. Even today this chapter of Indian history teaches us to stay united and protect ourselves. No matter in which form an invasion may come...
